The National Day Of Prayer

In my opinion, we have a lot to be thankful for, and a lot to pray about.

I am thankful for a country where I can come and go as I please, worship as I wish, speak what I want without repercussion, own a firearm, buy and sell things at will, choose my career, raise a family, own a home, own vehicles, etc.  All this and more was given to us as our birthrights of being born in these United States of America! I love my country and feel blessed to say she is my homeland!

Our forefathers and many brave young people have given their lives of service, or their blood to guarantee our freedoms and liberties. The founding fathers drew up a Bill of Rights, the Constitution, etc. to assure our rights, liberties and freedoms could be guaranteed in writing. They are the backbone of our Republic.

That being said, there are those in this political administration today that would have our society take a radical change, doing away with our liberties and freedoms we have enjoyed for over two hundred years. They are driving hard to turn this nation from a Republic under God to a Socialist nation as a member of another international world government under a few elite.

We need to pray.

The last fifty years or so have been decades of complacency and tolerance. Although we need to be tolerant of each other’s differences, we have taken that concept to an extreme, and have allowed freedoms, liberties and rights to be attacked and taken away from us. The loss of prayer in school, loss of the display of the Ten Commandments, the loss of display of the Nativity, abortion, and allowing and tolerating social sin as acceptable life styles has been not only an abomination to God, but has come at a high price.

God has had His hand on this country since its inception. In my opinion, we are under His grace and mercy now. He is giving us a chance to seek Him, bow our knee to Him, and turn from our evil ways. God is not a destructive, vengeful God that hacks us over the head immediately after we offend Him. He gives us time and a chance to repent and turn away from what set us apart. It’s called grace and mercy. That’s where I think we are now in this country.

God is not a respecter of persons, nor is He to be mocked. He will deal with sin and wrongdoing after all. Think of the flood, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, etc. God deals with the masses when they are complacent to His ways, sinful and unjust. But–He gives a chance and a warning before He decrees His judgement and brings down sins of the masses.

Personally, from what I read in the bible and have learned about God, He will not tolerate our evil ways forever. As biblical history has taught us, God is slow to anger, but when people don’t listen, don’t care, grow complacent to evil, etc., God steps in. People think they can get away with defiance to God and His commands. Think again!

Our country needs God now. We need to turn around and bend our knee to Him if we enjoy liberties, freedoms and rights. We need His help. We need prayer and we need to pray! We are not alone in standing for God and His principles. He is behind us!

We are closer to losing those things we enjoy and esteem as Americans than ever in my or my parent’s lifetimes.

Recently, the National Day Of Prayer became under attack. Supreme Court Judge Crabb ruled that this day is unconstitutional. “Last month, U.S. District Judge Barbara Crabb declared the National Day of Prayer to be unconstitutional, after a group of Wisconsin atheists at the Freedom From Religion Foundation challenged its constitutionality.” (National Day of Prayer Clouded by Controversy,  Raven Clabough, 06 MAY 2010, New American Online).

The Obama Administration is defending the National Day Of Prayer for now. (It’s my opinion that decision could be linked to the upcoming Primary Election).

At any rate, the Department of the Army restricted Franklin Graham, the honorary chair for the National Day Of Prayer Task Force 2010, from speaking/preaching at the Pentagon on this day. He recently made some comments about the evilness of the Islam religion (which some have linked to making evil comments of the Islam “people” which Franklin Graham has repeatedly said he loves, but dislikes the Islam “religion”).

In the May 6, 2010 USA Today Online: “According to Andrea Stone at AOL News, the service inside the Pentagon was led by the head of the Armed Forces Chaplain Board (a Protestant) along with Catholic, Jewish and Muslim chaplains who were ‘hastily added to the program” after the Task Force was dropped.’”

Franklin Graham definitely didn’t comply and wasn’t complacent when it came to The National Day Of Prayer at the Pentagon! He said prayers for our troops OUTSIDE the Pentagon! “However, Graham has elected to be present outside of the Pentagon during the prayer services, announcing, ‘I don’t have to be invited to a prayer service to pray for the men and women who serve this nation, who I’m so proud of.  I want them to know I support them.’” (National Day of Prayer Clouded by Controversy,  Raven Clabough, 06 MAY 2010, New American Online).

Way to go, Franklin Graham! We constitution backing, God-fearing citizens of these United States need to speak up for our rights and freedoms! We can’t be complacent. Not now! We need God. We need prayer. We need citizens to look at our threats to our liberties in the face and tell them “no”!

Thank you God! Thank you Franklin!

Forgiven

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things to do for a lot of people. I know. I was one of the most vengeful people I knew! Then God took control!

When a person offends you by word or deed, our natural carnal reaction is to get them back! Have you ever experienced road rage? Imagine a person is tailgating you, then decides to pass and nearly runs you off the road. What would you do? If that happened to me many years ago, I’d be calling them every name in the book, and speeding up to tail their bumper with my horn bellowing off and on! Thank goodness I am not like that anymore.

One day, early in my salvation walk, God began to deal with me about unforgiveness. It dawned on me that Christ went to the cross spotless–without one stain of sin. He took our sins as if he owned them on to Himself and left them on the cross, covered with His blood.

That had to be extremely painful. They say that death by crucifixion was one of the most painful deaths of the day. The thought of the pain he endured grabbed me.

I thought, how then can we not forgive when Christ forgave us through agonizing pain, and then with His life? It’s easy to get apathetic about the concept because we have heard about Christ’s sacrifice over and over again.

He wants us to forgive for our own good. (But isn’t that just like God? He is always looking out for OUR good because of His infinite love for us!)

The Bible says we need to forgive. In fact, Jesus said in the Lord’s Prayer that we need to ask forgiveness of our sins and to forgive those who have sinned against us. Why do you think it is important to forgive others?

God is very wise. Unforgiveness of others really has no effect or malady to the offender. They aren’t the ones ill-affected by the unforgiveness. The unforgiver is! Unforgiveness can block God’s Hand in our lives.

Matthew 6:15, But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. (NIV)

Mark 11:24-25, Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. (NIV)

Unforgiveness can open the door to the enemy (2 Corinthians 2:10-11), cause sicknesses and curses in our lives (Deuteronomy 27 and 28), keep us from spiritual growth (John 15:5-12) and much more.

When I was first saved, I had a lot of hurt and emotional damage to overcome. I wore my feelings on my sleeve and sometimes inappropriately lashed out at those that were undeserving. God showed me early that unforgiveness was a poison to me. It was going to be a spiritual block, and that the only person it was hurting was me.

The offenders had no idea I was suffering feelings against them.

I asked God to help me forgive. I started praying for my offender’s salvation and gave them to God. That did it! That seemed to be the finale to end my brokenness. Before I knew it, those harbored ill-feelings towards my offenders lifted. I could face them and see them as God saw them, without feeling awkward because of my bad feelings and unforgiveness towards them.

God showed me unforgiveness was key. Through the years when someone attacked me in some way, I prayed for forgiveness for my feelings towards them, asked God to forgive them, asked Him for their salvation, and gave them totally to Him. I saw Him many times work in the offender’s behalf to bring them to their knees. Sometimes I received the opportunity to witness to them, but more often than not, God took care of everything for me, and made good out of bad situations.

On July 17, 1995, I lost my only son, Danny who was my oldest child to a drunk driver. The drunk driver ran head-on into Danny. Danny was a passenger in the vehicle that was hit.

I was crushed and demoralized. My life had tumbled. As a Christian, I knew I had to forgive the boy who killed my son. As a human, the old unforgiveness cropped up and I wanted to kill the boy (drunk driver) over and over and over again.

Many days were spent in my bathtub trying to grasp reality, trying to figure out why God took my Danny away from me, and trying to get the unforgiveness out of my heart.

People would call and come over and ask what they could do for me. I would simply ask for prayer–specifically so that I could forgive the drunk driver. I knew I was NOT going to get through the grieving I was engulfed in if I didn’t forgive this boy.

To make matters worse, the boy began to call us because the state was pressing charges against him for second-degree manslaughter. I knew God was working in my life because when the boy asked what he could do for us, I told him to give his life to Christ and go to church, letting God help him with his drinking problem so he wouldn’t harm anyone else. We showed God’s love by not lashing out at him in any way, but told him to do positive things with his life like get his GED, possibly go to Vocational Sch00l to gain a trade, etc. We always told him he was in our prayers.

The boy continued to call because he was trying to get us to do something about the charges the state had against him. He didn’t know we had no control over that. That, in itself was very hard to take because it seemed to cheapen my son’s life/death. I could see the boy hadn’t learned his lesson. We gave it to God.

God answers prayer. After a couple of months spent mostly in the bathtub, I was able to get on with my life in a new direction, not being consumed with unforgiveness. I went from thinking about the drunk driver everyday to maybe once a week. When I caught myself thinking badly, I would ask the Lord to forgive me and to continue to help me forgive the drunk driver. Now, years later, I may think of the boy who killed my son three to four times a year–never without praying for his salvation. I haven’t felt the disdain for him because of the unforgiveness for many years. To me, that was a miracle!

I don’t know much about the boy who killed my son other than that he lives about eight to ten miles from me, has married, and has his own children. He stopped calling when the Prosecuting Attorney told him to do so. Before he stopped calling, he told us he’d been to church. The last we have heard a couple of years ago from others is that he continued to drink a lot.

I still expect him to get saved. Danny would have wanted it no other way.

The Financial Reform Bill

It seems the Obama administration is at it again! President Bush may have started the “bailout” concept, but Obama has taken it to extreme just like he has taken Bush’s Economic Stimulus to extreme!

President Bush tried to stimulate the U.S. economy by including everybody who paid taxes in the form of a government check. Obama decided he would “one up” Bush by secretly, non-transparently, pushing and forcing Economic Stimulus in the form of waste and special projects that employed only a few, and did little for the economy except burden “the people” with more debt.

Obamacare seems to be more of the same, and has hidden language included in it to give Obama more security and “the people” less rights! It too was secretly, non-transparently pushed through Congress. “The people” again are burdened with more cost, less care, and less freedom with a hammer over our heads should we choose not to conform to buying health insurance!

Now we have the Financial Reform Bill Obama is trying to enact. Can things get much worse? According to April 20, 2010 Right Wing News by John Hawkins, “Sen. Chris Dodd (D.-Conn.) crafted the Senate version of so-called “Financial Reform” with the support of the President. The procedure used to date resembles the non-transparent and secretive tactics used to pass ObamaCare. The Senate Banking Committee marked up the bill in 22 minutes, with no amendments offered and no debate allowed. Now, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and President Obama are trying to rush the bill to the floor before the American people have a chance to understand that it contains a hidden, permanent bailout fund.”

The guise Obama wants to portray is that this bill will prevent banks from taking risks too great. If the banks should take  too great of risk, the bill will force them in to bankruptcy. That sounds fine, yet it calls for a $50 billion fund to be set up for bailouts! What? Do you see a pattern here?

Again, not many know what is in this bill, but from what little I have been able to access about it, it will weaken the U.S economy even more.

It seems Obama says what everyone wants to hear, and does the opposite. The “opposite” thing he does, gets turned into law and it’s the law that sticks–not what he says! What he says goes by the wayside, or people forget, or dismiss. In my opinion, he is one of the most untrustworthy officials I have ever come across in my fifty-three years!

The bible says in Matthew 5:37 “Simply let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No’; anything beyond this comes from the evil one.” (NIV)

What is Obama’s goal? I still say he has an agenda, and that agenda is a New World Order! The New World Order has an agenda, and that is international control over the people. Who is going to be in control? The same people that are silently in control now–the political elite who are not really in politics, but are behind politics. Get it? They are the big bankers and big money people who are the ones calling the shots, and have been for years. They have everything they want, but more power and more control. The New World Order is exactly their goal to have international influence and supremacy.

The Trilateral Commission (part of the political elite funded by Rockefeller, Kettering and Ford; founded by Greenspan and Volcker–both heads of the Federal Reserve–which is a private owned company, not a part of the U.S. government) wants nothing more than a New World Order. According to Rockefeller, the organization could “be of help to government by providing measured judgment.” The Trilateral Commission was well recieved by the Bilderbergs (an annual, unofficial, invitation-only conference of around 130 guests, most of whom are persons of influence in the fields of politics, banking, business, the military and media. Each conference is closed to the public and the press.)

The Trilateral Commission, the Bilderbergs and many other influential organizations (especially big banks) are the secret politcal elite.

These “elites” want microchipping, a weakened U.S economy, the U.S military reduced and weakened so they can gain international control. They are “behind” the scenes of government, but you and I know they are the puppet masters, and government officials are the puppets here in the U.S.  The “elites” want more. That is the reason for the New World Order!

Obama is just a puppet. He has been “groomed” according to Henry Kissinger to lead the New World Order. What he is doing is no surprise. The bible speaks by means of Daniel and John of a “one-world government” loud and clear (though the wording is not “one-world government). It’s just that many didn’t think they would see it come to pass in their lifetimes!

The Bible portrays a one-world government with a one-world leader, marks on people’s right hand or forehead (probably the microchip), in the days before Jesus returns to earth. I have heard that the “elites” have been working to bring forth biblical prophecy for some time.

Personally, I am against socialism that will come with the New World Order and all that follows it like the microchipping, socialized medicine, one-world monetary system, (and who knows what else). I know it’s coming sooner or later because of biblical prophecy. My prayer is that it come much later so we have more time to get the gospel to all the peoples of all nations, yet it seems to be on the horizon.

Please pray for our nation and her freedoms. The U.S. has been the anchor in getting God’s Word out to the masses!

Where Is The Media?

Is it just me, or have you noticed too much media attention on Tiger Woods? Why?

The guy committed a personal offense against his wife and family, but he didn’t commit a crime! Why so much hype about him? Aren’t there other sports figures, movie stars, news anchors, etc. that have committed the same sort of egregious malfeasance? It’s not like Tiger hosted dog fights, or fixed bets on his golfing outcomes. His problem was personal and should have been kept at that level.

I can understand why the media wanted to pick up the story in the onset, but to continually harp on it makes me wonder.

There are many more stories out there that are either being hushed up, or there is some sort of taboo as to what citizens of the United States are allowed to hear, or not.

Are people afraid to step up and voice their First Amendment Bill of Rights freedom of speech? Do we really have that right? I am not sure. I want to think so and believe so, but there are things that just don’t add up.

For instance, why did the media not comment about the microchip implanting or the private army for Obama that’s a part of the healthcare reform bill? Why hasn’t the media tuned in on alleged FEMA camps–are they valid or are they concentration camps for Americans like some would have you believe? Why didn’t we find out that guns were taken away from residents that survived Katrina?

I love my country. I love the foundations it was founded upon. I love freedom.

It concerns me that our country is leaning far away from it’s founding principles. When government starts to take away our rights to privacy, for instance, we are not living in the country our Founding Fathers created. As most people know, every phone call, every internet website, every instant message can be traced or eaves dropped upon. The Clinton administration, prior to 9/11 used Echelon to spy on people. “Everywhere in the world, every day, people’s phone calls, emails and faxes are monitored by Echelon, a secret government surveillance network. No, it’s not fiction straight out of George Orwell’s 1984. It’s reality, says former spy Mike Frost in an interview broadcast on 60 Minutes on Sunday, Feb. 27.” (CBS 60 Minutes–Ex-Snoop Confirms Echelon Network, March 1, 2000).   http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2000/02/24/60minutes/main164651.shtml?tag=mncol;lst;2

“Echelon was, or is (its existence has been under—reported in the American media), an electronic eavesdropping program conducted by the United States and a few select allies such as the United Kingdom.” (William Tate, American Thinker”, January 12, 2006).  http://www.americanthinker.com/2006/01/under_clinton_ny_times_called.html

“As an example of those innocent people, Frost cites a woman whose name and telephone number went into the Echelon database as a possible terrorist because she told a friend on the phone that her son had “bombed” in a school play. The computer spit that conversation out. The analyst was not too sure what the conversation was referring to, so, erring on the side of caution, he listed that lady (as a possible terrorist), Frost recalls.” (CBS 60 Minutes–Ex-Snoop Confirms Echelon Network, March 1, 2000). http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2000/02/24/60minutes/main164651.shtml?tag=mncol;lst;2

During the Clinton administration, Echelon was used (or misused) abundantly.

Why no media hype? Thank goodness 60 Minutes reported on it, but there was no media frenzy about it. Personally, I don’t know about you, but I think it is important to know the government might be spying on my personal conversations! I think it’s more relevant information than the Tiger Woods smear. Don’t you?

Have you heard about the mass exodus of Michigan? I bet not. Tiger Woods’ story is too important!

According to Ron French and Mike Wilkinson, The Detroit News, April 2, 2009, “There are city’s worth of people moving out of the state. Since 2001, migration has cost Michigan 465,000 people, the equivalent of the combined populations of Grand Rapids, Warren and Sterling Heights — the state’s second-, third- and fourth-largest cities.” http://detnews.com/article/20090402/METRO/904020403/Leaving-Michigan-Behind–Eight-year-population-exodus-staggers-state

People there are losing jobs at an alarming rate. One obvious reason is the auto industry, but there is a trickle-down effect. Loss of people means few customers for the entrepreneur, fewer children in schools–fewer needs, thus less commerce.

Young college educated families are having to find jobs in other states because there are none to be found in their home state. Their residents have to be foreclosed or sold for loss.

“In the last ten years, Michigan has lost over a million jobs, most of which will not be coming back.” (Trifter, Leaving Michigan, October 18, 2009). http://trifter.com/usa-canada/michigan/leaving-michigan/

The major media spends time talking about California and it’s financial condition. Why don’t we hear about the exodus of Michigan?

There are lots of other examples of non-media hype, some of which would make your ears curl. Actually, there are some things I have found recently that I don’t feel “free enough” to talk about! Strange things have happened to some who have brought the subjects to the forefront. It seems to me, if memory serves me correctly, the media jumped on injustices and governmental corruptions to help make wrongs right. It doesn’t seem like the media is as tuned in as it used to be.

That brings me back to the concept of fear of our freedoms. Although we have documents stating we have freedom of speech, I am concerned that our government has changed, and abides by some of our Constitution and dismisses itself from other parts. Those that are in the powers that be, don’t want a light shined on our freedoms being quietly and slowly taken away from us. Because of this, people are afraid to speak out.

Is the media hushed about certain issues, thus we don’t hear about them? Are we truly free? Have we gotten that far away from the Founding Father’s concepts?

Freedom doesn’t mean we have the right to hurt anyone, but there are freedoms blood has bought for us. Those Constitutional Rights are precious and empowering to be all we can be as Patriotic Americans. We cannot let them erode like they have been.

It has been my contention for years that the only true freedom we have is the freedom in  Christ.  If you abide in my word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free,'” (John 8:31-32). There is no freedom like the freedom God gives us when we accept the Lord Jesus Christ as our Savior. Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. (John 8:34-36).

Armies, Implanted Chips…Oh My!

There are some disturbing things true about this administration that most Americans don’t even have a clue.

Last week I talked about the need for Christians to bow their knee and pray for our country. I can’t emphasize today how important it is to cry out to God about things that are going on in this administration under the guise of health care and health matters.

Did you know that one of the issues brought to light in the health care reform bill/law is the formation of a private army for Obama? Why does he need a private army (called the Ready Reserve Corps)? According to the March 27, 2010 issue of Conservative For Change, it says “The purpose of the Ready Reserve Corps is to fulfill the need to have additional Commissioned Corps personnel available on short notice (similar to the uniformed service’s reserve program) to assist regular Commissioned Corps personnel to meet both routine public health and emergency response missions.”

You can read more about this by googling “Ready Reserve Corps” or go to the aformentioned site at: http://www.conservativeforchange.com/2010/03/obama-just-got-his-private-reserve-army.html

So, we now need an army to deal with routine public health and emergency response? Oh deary me! Could the health care reform law be a mask to use this “army” for other purposes? Have we ever needed an army before to deal with routine public health? Or, could it be that we need the army to enforce the RFIDs (electronic chips) that the government wants Americans to have implanted under their skin? I don’t know about you, but I was appalled when I found out.

According to the the March 25, 2010 New American by Timothy Baldwin, the government is seeking out a way to control the millions of people who will be a part of the healthcare industry. “The federal government now has the responsibility and power to control much (if not all) of the regulations and systems used in the medical industry, including how patients will be identified, processed, and treated through the system. Its vested interest in the entire medical industry and in the cost of healthcare for each person will undoubtedly create a system of control upon the lives of those within its system.

To do this, facts reveal that the federal government will utilize RFID chip technology and will require every person within the healthcare system to receive this chip into their bodies.”

An RFID is a radio frequency identification computer device placed under the skin to be used for identification, tracking, information storage and to interface with financial, commercial, business, governmental, educational and medical institutions.

The chip is about the size of a grain of rice and will be implanted under the skin.  (Google verichip picture to see what the one approved by the FDA looks like.)

It is proposed in HR 4872 (Reconciliation Bill) that there be a means to track patient safety for patients with devices like pacemakers. The implications include some startling wording to allow an implantable device. Check out Sean Hannity’s forum at http://forums.hannity.com/showthread.php?t=1896891

According to Parkersburg West Virginia Tea Party Report of March 31, 2010, Reconciliation Act H.R. 4872 Brings Microchipping to America, there seems to be a “rat” in the house! “But as usual the wording of this bill permits the creation of something entirely quite different. In 2004 the FDA approved the Verichip for use of storing medical records. This device was classified as a Class II medical device. This is most likely the Class II implantable device being referred to in this section of the bill. The bill allows the unique device identifier (Chip ID tag) to be linked to “postmarket safety patient outcome data” regarding the implantable device itself. In order “to facilitate the analyses of postmarket safety and patient outcomes” the health secretary will examine ways to gain access to Medicare health records, private sector health records and other data deemed necessary (including surveillance data) by the Health Secretary and then link it to the database and your RFID implant. Just to be accurate, section (3) defines “data” as “claims data, patient survey data, standardized analytic files that allow for the pooling and analysis of data from disparate data environments, electronic health records, and any other data deemed appropriate by the secretary.”

As with many things in government, once a door is opened, the water floods in. Who would ever have thought the Roe v. Wade decision would bring abortion to the level it is today. I agree with many others that once the RFID is implemented, it will be used to track and control far more than medical records. The implications are of Biblical proportions if you are familiar with Biblical passages in Revelations. Could this chip be the mark of the beast? I think it could be based on where this government is headed.

According to Perry Stone, there is a powerful push for the New World Order.  For that to come to pass, there has to be controls on the people like never before.

We are seeing biblical prophecy unfold right before our eyes. A one world government is predicted, the mark of the beast is predicted, peace throughout for a limited time is predicted, etc.  It is my prediction that “peace” will be one of the most powerful components of the ushering in of the one world government.

The United States is in the way of the New World Order. Our freedoms, economic and military strength keep us from dependence of the need of world unification. If these areas of strength become weakened, the concept of uniting with other countries becomes more palatable to some.

I don’t think it is any coincidence that the nation’s and world’s economy is in such a mess. It’s no coincidence that Obama is trying to weaken the appearance of the United States by apologizing for it and by announcing the nuclear stance of this country in the event of attack.

Is this a conspiracy? No, it’s been a plan in the making for decades. Kissinger has said that Obama is being groomed for leadership in the New World Order.

In an article on VIDEONETDAILY, Kissinger: Obama primed to create ‘New World Order’ posted on January 6, 2009, it says, “Conflicts across the globe and an international respect for Barack Obama have created the perfect setting for establishment of “a New World Order,” according to Henry Kissinger, the Nobel Peace Prize winner and former secretary of state under President Nixon.”

The same article goes on to quote Kissinger speaking on a news program, “The president-elect is coming into office at a moment when there is upheaval in many parts of the world simultaneously,” Kissinger responded. “You have India, Pakistan; you have the jihadist movement. So he can’t really say there is one problem, that it’s the most important one. But he can give new impetus to American foreign policy partly because the reception of him is so extraordinary around the world. His task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period when, really, a new world order can be created. It’s a great opportunity, it isn’t just a crisis.”

I have to wonder if we are experiencing what has been carefully planned over the decades by the political elite that are the real power behind politics. I think a New World Order is planned, but there has to be a change in our military strength, economic strength and freedoms we have known. If you think about what is going on right now, our country is in debt to China and Saudi Arabia past our eyeballs. Our military is strong, but what are we saying when we tell the world we will not retaliate to an attack with our strength of nuclear power? We definitely don’t have the freedoms we once enjoyed and as the government is showing us, we are losing more and more.

We need to pray for this nation like never before. We are instructed in the Bible to pray for our leaders and our nation. This is a time that we need Godly intervention like no other. There are more things I will talk about in upcoming blogs, but what I have covered today gives me a strong reason to cry out to God about keeping our nation free. “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” (James 5:16, New International Version).

Easter

As we celebrate one of the most sacred holidays of the Christian faith, we not only celebrate Christ’s Resurrection, but we also need to remember and realize Easter is a celebration of forgiveness and new life.  If ever there was a time that our country could use a breath of new life, it is now! I will go into that further in a minute.

Easter stands for Jesus’ Resurrection after being crucified for our sins. This is true and holy, but what was the reason He had to die for our sins? Forgiveness, so that we could have a relationship with Him. Prior to His resurrection, sins were atoned for by the sacrificing of animals, but this did not provide a means to form a relationship with God.

In the beginning, God created man for companionship. God had a relationship with Adam and Eve. Original sin cut that relationship off because God is holy and cannot be around sin. Although, before Christ, animal blood sacrifices were to cover sin, it didn’t do away and make clean the souls of the sinners. Jesus’ blood did to give a means to have a relationship with Him. Accepting what He did for us and asking Him to come in to our hearts gives us a new life to be able to commune with Him. He provided the means for this when He died on the cross and rose again.

Easter is a day of celebration of the Christian faith, but we should also remember that it is the day that linked us to a relationship with God because of His forgiveness of our sins and letting us be born again.

One of my sincerest prayers is that our country seek forgiveness and seek newness of life by stopping legalized abortion, funding for slothfulness (i.e. by extending unemployment from twenty-six weeks to ninety-nine), making it against the law to display the Ten Commandments or the Nativity in public government places, taking God out of schools, trying to tell Israel that she can’t fly over Iraq to defend herself from Iran, etc.

We are a great nation. We became founded upon great Christian values and beliefs. We are where we are today because of those values and the rewards for practicing them from the grace of God. If you don’t believe that, just look at the advances in technology–most of which has come from the United States in the last one hundred years. How easily we have turned our backs on our Godly foundation and His grace.

We need to bow our knee in forgiveness for allowing legalized abortion, rewarding the undeserving (able people who take advantage of the system without trying to become self-sufficient), wasting our tax money on programs that go nowhere instead of helping the needy, being politically correct about shutting out God from aspects of our lives, etc.  We need to simply follow the Ten Commandments mindfully when minding our jobs and assembling things like new laws.

As Christians, we have become complacent, but we need to stop that behavior now, and stand up to change things full circle to honor and obey our Father God. We need to vote out government leaders who support humanism and loathe Christianity. We need to vote in Christians that love and back our Constitution. As importantly, we need to pray. I can tell you by example that prayer changes things.

The change we are seeing in this administration is not the change we need. The change we need is to return to our Judeo-Christian values and roots so that our God can continue to harvest souls for His Kingdom for eternity. It is my strong opinion that we are still free in this country because we are the springboard for God’s Word flowing throughout our land and lands far away. It is my fear that people like those in this administration would do all they can to stop or limit our freedoms, tax us heavily, ruin our economy, and undermine our Constitution so that we are no longer free to practice our beliefs–which are the foundations of our success in this country.

This Easter is as an important one as there ever has been. Our country is in serious trouble if we don’t do something to stop those in power at this time. I haven’t begun to tell you what I have found out about this administration lately. Stay tuned.

It is our duty to humble ourselves and pray that God will help us turn things around by first asking forgiveness for allowing the immoral laws of the past to sneak in because of our complacency. The current administration is doing a lot of sneaking around, bribing, and counting on our complacency. If ever we needed forgiveness to renew our relationship with God, and His Hand to intervene for our country, we need Him now.

Socialism or Freedom?

I am no fan of the current administration or the socialism they are trying to ram down our throats.  I really don’t think most Americans thought the “change” Obama was talking about in his campaigns meant a change from a democratic republic to a socialist one.

With the healthcare reform dominating the forefront of the news, hopefully Americans that voted for Obama “get it”. He has tried to force a twenty-seven hundred page document through Congress rapidly so healthcare reform gets passed before most can read the bill! “Change” is being dictated to us and “change” is belittling us to other countries.

Obama duped Congress and most Americans by telling us the urgency of the stimulus package. He said if it didn’t pass, our economy would collapse. Well, most of the money is still unspent (so there was no real urgency), the economy seems about the same, and unemployment is worse (it was about eight percent when he took office and now is in the double figures).

What is he up to? The answer is simple–Socialism.

There are key components needed in order for a government to drastically change or convert to another form. One is the economy has to be bad. The economy is bad, but so is it bad in lots of other countries. In Roman times, the government had overspent itself to the point of no return. Then that world power collapsed. Are we there yet? Is that where Obama is leading us? Is that the reason for the extreme debt Obama has put us in to?

It is my opinion and that of many others that Obama is being primed to become the first leader of the New World Order. In order for that to take place, America has to yield to Socialism.

There are now twenty-seven countries in the European Union who are Socialists for the most part. The European Union wants to expand to include the Americas and Canada in the near future to form the New World Order.

On March 9, 2010 Drew Zahn of World Net Daily said that Kissinger agrees that Obama is a good pick for world leadership because of global bad economy and the popularity Obama enjoys overseas. “Conflicts across the globe and an international respect for Barack Obama have created the perfect setting for establishment of ‘a New World Order,’ according to Henry Kissinger”.  There are many others that agree with Kissinger.

Another component to a drastic government change and conversion is downplay or weakening of the military. Could that be the reason Obama originally wanted the 9/11 terrorists tried in New York City instead of by the military? Military secrets, policies and tactics would be revealed. Could that downplay our military? I think it could.

During the Bush administration, not one terror attack was reported on American soil after 9/11. Why? According to interviewed terrorists, they were afraid of Bush and how he would retaliate militarily. That doesn’t seem to hold true when it comes to Obama. If you watch the news, terror attacks have happened again on our soil, i.e. the underwear bomber, Ft. Hood, etc.

On April 3, 2009 Time magazine online summed it up with “Talk of American economic supremacy has been replaced by a call from Obama for more growth in developing countries. Claims of American military supremacy have been replaced with heavy emphasis on cooperation and diplomatic hard labor.”

An important component to a government conversion is to disarm the people. Has anyone noticed the difficulty in purchasing ammunition since the beginning of the Obama administration?

I love my United States of America. I love it as the republic that it is. I loathe socialism in so many ways, but one of the most important ways I detest it is that it can turn to communism very easily. The biggest difference between the two is that socialists will let you have religion–communists won’t.

My hope is that one administration won’t be able to change our government, its values, the Constitution, our rights and laws.

What can we do about it? Right now, I think one of the key things to do is pray. Pray for our president. Pray that he turn his heart over to Christ and let him have an encounter with the Lord. Prayer changes things.

Another key thing to do is to keep in touch with Congress as well as the Executive Branch to let them know your opinion about changes happening. Although the “Czar” appointments have seemingly taken some power away from Congress, we are still a Republic. We still have a system of government that has worked for the past two hundred years.  Let your voice be heard. As many have let their voices be heard through tea parties, etc. Obama has deemed it necessary to water-down his previous healthcare reform ideas.

We are a government created by the people, for the people and of the people. We can’t let one man change that.

People are so busy and preoccupied with life’s goings ons that they don’t suspect that their freedom which they have always enjoyed may be at risk. The Obama administration is counting on that. I think if more Americans realized that their right to bear arms, their right to worship freely, etc. could be changed or taken away, there would be more of an upheaval about this administration. The devaluing of the dollar and the committing of unprecedented debt is appalling, but the reasoning behind it is to convert to socialism. Are Americans really for that?

As long as this country is the spring-board for getting the gospel out to others, here and abroad, as well as being Israel’s number one ally, I don’t think God wants us to change the government founded on His Judeo-Christian values. He will allow things to happen to people in order for them to fall to their knees and yield to Him, however.

I think this administration could be a wake up call to Christians of the United States of America to get on their knees and pray that their beloved country stay free.

A Promise Kept

Today is a day of celebration. It’s a day to remember a wonderful woman–my grandma: Mabel H. Owen. She was 95 and went on to be with the Lord, January 18, 2010.

Though she is not in her body anymore, I believe she is not far off. Hebrews 12:1 says:

1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.

In Revelations 11: 11-12, it talks about the two prophets that were raised from the dead and taken up to heaven in a cloud.

11But after the three and a half days a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and terror struck those who saw them.

12Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they went up to heaven in a cloud, while their enemies looked on.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity and privilege I had to live with Grandma over the last nineteen months. After she broke her hip a couple of years ago, she couldn’t walk again and needed full-time care. We had to put an addition on to our house, but we moved her in as soon as it was done.

Although the Alzheimer’s disease caused her to not be herself, I kept a promise I made to her many years ago. I promised I would never put her in a nursing home. Even though it was hard to see her whither away these past months, that promise was kept and she was as comfortable as she could have been, and died in the night on January 18, 2010, peacefully in her sleep at home with me. Praise God for allowing me to keep my promise.

I have many great memories of doing things with my Grandma. She was the most active senior citizen I have ever met (up until the time of her broken hip). While we lived in California at the same time in the 80s, we would fish together off the dock in Antioch, we’d pick fruit in Brentwood and bring it home to can it, and we’d do things with our hands. We both loved crafts.

Grandma was feisty and comical. She used to love to be with Danny, my now deceased son. (I am sure they are playing and having fun together in heaven!) Danny went to Christian school while we lived in California. We had to drop him off at Grandma’s in the mornings before work, so she could take him to school, and then she had to pick him up from school in the afternoons. She’d often tell Danny not to tell anyone what they did together to pass the time before and after school! Danny forgot and told me once that she and he played cards before and after school, and the game they played was fish! She wanted it to be a secret because she thought people at the school wouldn’t understand. I thought it was adorable!

I feel so blessed and at peace to know where Grandma is at. When we both lived in California, I asked her if she knew she was going to heaven. She told me, “Now Paula, you have to hope you get there. You do things the best you can and then when you die, you see if you were good enough to get there.” I told her that the Bible says we can know we are going to heaven. She thought that odd, but she listened. I told her about John 3: 16

16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Then I told her about Paul and Silas when they were in jail and the jailer asked them what he needed to do to get saved.

Acts 16:29-31

29The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.

30He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”

31They replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household.”

I told her that when you ask God to come in to your heart and you accept Jesus as your Savior, you know you are going to heaven. Your heart and spirit inside you changes and you just know. It just happens!

Romans 10:9 says

9That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:13 says that

13everyone that calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

I shared all that with her.

Days went by and Grandma and I didn’t bring up the subject of salvation. I didn’t want to force it on her, but I was believing God for what He said in His Word that we and our household will be saved. By that, He meant that we and our family will be saved and Grandma was a very special family member to me.

One day, we started talking about God again and I asked Grandma if she was saved. She said yes! She said she’d always believed from her Catholic faith, that Jesus died for our sins, but she didn’t know about the personal relationship He wanted us to have. She said she asked Jesus in her heart and then believed she was saved! It is because of that “yes” that gives me the peace today that I know she is happy. She is with my best friend and Lord, Jesus Christ. He will take better care of her than anyone or anything here on earth.

Though my heart has been aching and I miss her very very much, I know she was ready. Watching her these last nineteen months was hard. I knew she was getting older and wouldn’t be with us forever, but she still had a lot of spunk until about November, 2009. Throughout the past couple of months as she was going down, she would have days that seemed like were good for her. We prayed for her everyday as a family and told the Lord that although we didn’t want her to leave us, she wasn’t enjoying life anymore. For a lady with the spunk she had, just existing wasn’t living.

I am so blessed that I got to spend the end of Grandma’s life with her.  Most of the time she was with us, I don’t think she realized she was living with me. At first, when we moved her in, she may have known, but the part of the house she lived in was new, and not how she remembered my house being. When we are together again, I hope she is as happy as I am that we had these past nineteen months together. She was nothing like herself most of the time because of Alzheimers, but in eternity, we will have a blast together! God worked it out so that I got to keep my promise.

Are We Safer Now?

During the Bush/Cheney administration, we had no terrorist attacks after 9/11 on our soil. They were tough on terrorism, beefed up the military, and gave the military tribunal the job of interrogation and sentencing at Guantanamo Bay.

With the current administration, we have had too many terrorist attacks–and yes, I said terrorist attacks on our soil. Apologizing for this nation, softening up the military, and moving the 9/11 trials to the civil courts are just some of the reasons we are suffering attacks in our homeland.

According to a report a few days ago on Fox News, our troops feel that they are being held back on the war on terror. The report stated that there is confusion among our troops in Afghanistan. Obama has approved an additional 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, but if they aren’t sure what they are there for, or being held back from doing what they are trained to do, what good does it do? Politicians need to let them do their job and take out Al Qaeda and Bin Laden before this administration allows another terror attempt on our soil.

According to a report on GretaWire.com, (http://gretawire.blogs.foxnews.com/mass-senate-race-on-fire-read-this/), one of the main reasons we need to have military tribunals is so we can learn of future terrorist plans. The military knows best how to deal with interrogation information to protect our country. Put in the hands of civil court, our military and our country is going to be slam-blasted and some of our secrets will be revealed! Most in this country agree that the terrorists should be judged by the military. The terrorists are happy about the civil court arrangement, however. They can lie and belittle us publicly and feel less threatened to attack us again.

So why have things changed so radically?

In my opinion, President Obama duped this nation with lies and unintentional promises throughout his campaign. He is a very intelligent man and knows how to use words and charm to smooze people. Too many Americans bought it, but now see that he’s not following through with his word. This administration seems to be doing just the opposite of its campaign promises. They know most Americans object, so they do what they do behind closed doors.

Many like me, are troubled greatly that Obama thought it important to apologize to other countries for the actions of our beloved nation. We elected him to represent us, not to sell us short! It makes our country appear weak.

Is Obama really a Christian? Or did he lie about that too? (Oops! Did I just say that?)

Mr. Obama said many times in his candidacy that his administration would be open to the public. He said healthcare reform debates would be so open, they’d be aired on C-SPAN. Has anyone seen any of those broadcasts in the last twelve months? No. There haven’t been any! Republican politicians and many citizens have been afraid of inside deals, kick backs, etc. because of the closed-door dealings with this very important subject that will affect us all. http://sweetness-light.com/archive/obama-c-span-will-air-h-care-debate Be sure to click on the video reports at that website. Our country deserves to be told the truth!

So, what can we do to turn things around? Pray and Vote! Whatever you do, when the time comes for your Federal Senators or Federal Representatives to be elected, get out there and vote. We need to change the existing liberal majority who is desperately working to reduce our constitutional rights, change our strengths to weaknesses, and govern with iron fists.

God has His hand on this country, and in my opinion, will not let us go down like a sinking ship. I believe we can change things through our actions and prayer. America is the springboard for the gospel to be preached to all the nations. We have not only physically been the leader in this task, but we have been the financial backbone of it as well. God won’t destroy that by letting our country go down. He just needs to hear from us, that we care about our country’s affairs and what needs to be done. His Word says,

2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Amen!

Merry Christmas

I have stolen a phrase from a friend of mine: Happy Holidays to all, but for me and my house, have a Merry Christmas!

It’s hard to believe that in my lifetime, it has become politically incorrect to say Merry Christmas. I am 53, and since about the 1980s, we have come a long way. Or, have we? Taking Christ out of Christmas, prayer out of school, legalizing abortion, taking the ten commandments out of our court houses–and I could go on. Is that progress?

On one hand, we have made strides with technology, especially with computers. Because of the personal computer and the ability to network with others, we can accomplish things in hours that used to take weeks or months or more! People can actually work from home with a laptop and a phone! Amazing. We have come so far.

Think of it–the last one hundred years have given us strides in technology like no other time period. We have become mobile with airlines and automobiles. We have been able to develop manufacturing so products are readily available at the time of need. Interstate highways allow people to go here and there with ease. Television puts people in touch with news, entertains and educates. All this and much more has come to fruition in just the last one hundred years!

According to my beliefs, man has been on earth for around six thousand years. Why just these last hundred have we come so far? For one reason and one reason, only–to spread the gospel to all the world. Before television and ease of mobility, there was no way to get His message to all.

God has a master plan and it is that plan that is being developed. Some call it signs of the times. If you read the Bible, you can see that God shows us He is coming again. Why? With all our technology and knowledge we have now, we can actually become a danger to ourselves. Apparently, that is exactly what happens when Jesus will return. History has shown over and over again that knowledge corrupts some and those it corrupts, become greedy and power hungry. With all the know-how we now have, we could blow ourselves out of the universe. There are terrorists that could do a lot of destruction today, if given the opportunity. God will stop us before we destroy ourselves.

Two thousand years ago, there was a child born in Bethlehem. He was and is the Savior of the world. Things were very primitive in His time here on earth and they stayed that way for most of the last two thousand years. He planned on living for around thirty years to teach us salvation and how to live a Christian life. For the past two thousand years, God has given people a vehicle and plan of salvation to determine their destiny in eternity. It’s by no mistake we are as advanced as we find ourselves today.

It is nearing His time to come again and we find it politically incorrect to include His name on the celebration of His birthday! When eighty percent of the United States call themselves Christians, how in the world did we allow political incorrectness to rob us of the values we love and hold dear to political incorrectness? Pulling away from God and His commandments puts us on that road to greed and power hunger I mentioned earlier.

God told Adam and Eve they could eat of any tree in the Garden of Eden except the tree of knowledge. God knew that we can become corrupt with knowledge so He has kept technology and the advancement of knowledge hidden until now. Before we destroy it all, He is coming again! We are nearing the time of His second coming and Rapture of the church.

So, as we celebrate this Christmas, I also look forward to His second coming and say, “come Lord Jesus, come”!

Merry Christmas!
